NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The Stooges Brass Band is scrambling to get prepared for their effectiveness at Jazz Fest on Friday just after their van with 1000’s of dollars worth of equipment was stolen in Central Town.
“We ended up working towards below. Every little thing was fantastic. Functioning out some new songs mainly because we’re having prepared for Jazz Fest,” explained band chief Walter Ramsey. “Roland [Taylor] called me like 6 perhaps 6:45 Thursday morning and was like ‘Man the van is long gone.’ I was like, what? Whatcha suggest gone?”
The Stooges Brass Band users say they had been practising the evening of Wednesday, April 27, at The Rabbit Gap in Uptown till about 10 p.m. The band’s drummer, Roland Taylor, stated he parked the van by his mother’s home in Central Metropolis, but by early Thursday early morning, the van was gone.
“I’m like, the full van? Like, not the tires, absolutely nothing busted out. A whole van just long gone,” mentioned Taylor. “I had two drum sets I just bought [in the van].”
In addition, he stated there was an amp, a mic, instrument stands, two keyboards, some personalized products, and all of his cymbals.
“I experienced like 10 cymbals in that scenario,” he said. “I want to say it was about $1,500 to $2,000 worthy of of cymbals.”
