Grange Hill High gets musical instruments, sports equipment

GRANGE HILL, Westmoreland — Students at Grange Hill Superior School in Westmoreland are now ready to sing a different tune right after they had been gifted with musical instruments and sports activities gear less than the Ministry of Nationwide Security’s ‘Liv Gud’ music, sports and technological innovation (MST) initiative.

The items ended up presented by Minister of National Safety Dr Horace Chang on February 9. Among the items were a trumpet, drum, footballs and netball bibs.

Speaking during the party Dr Chang stated devices are a significant portion of the country’s tradition and spoke of the role they could enjoy in shaping youngsters’ life.

“We have to obtain a way to redirect them. No kid is born violent — no Jamaican male. It’s not a part of our lifestyle,” he stressed.

“Our society is extra reflective in what we are performing in presenting you with songs instruments and athletics machines. Jamaica is identified globally as a sporting giant we have the world-beaters,” he included.

Chairman of the school’s board, Samuel Williams was overjoyed that the institution was chosen to acquire the presents.

“We are pleased that you have picked out this institution and we want to thank you for coming and highlighting this establishment the place it is surrounded by communities in the violent zone,” he mentioned gratefully.

Member of Parliament for Westmorland Western Morland Wilson, who was existing at the ceremony, encouraged learners and employees to use the instruments to the most effective of their capabilities.
