Youth exhibit off their techniques, and abilities at a variety of venues from Feb. 12 to March 4
The Cowichan Audio Festival celebrates its 75th calendar year with a number of special pupil performances in the types of Dance, Piano, Vocal Choral and Musical Theatre Voice, and Devices and Band to be done at a wide variety of venues in Duncan involving Feb. 12, and March 4.
“We are all so thrilled to be celebrating 75 a long time,” claimed CMF president Carol Newington. “There have been so quite a few persons, all volunteers, in excess of the decades who have produced enormous contributions to the functioning of this yearly pageant. We are incredibly lucky to have donors whose generous contributions support the youth continue their enthusiasm for the Arts.”
The Cowichan Tunes Festival was established in 1949 by an enthusiastic parent instructor auxiliary and experienced humble beginnings of just 50 entries for its initial festival. This year’s competition has a complete of 732 entries with 666 common entries, and 66 pay as you go drop-ins for their dance master lessons, showing how important this festival and the arts are to the neighborhood.
The competition kicks off with a few performances in Classical Voice at the Duncan United Church on Feb. 12, at 9 a.m., and 1 and 7 p.m., followed by choirs doing at the Cowichan Undertaking Arts Centre on Feb. 13, at 9:30 a.m.
On Feb. 20, take pleasure in possibly a 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. functionality of learners enjoying the calming seems of strings at Duncan United Church.
