Coach bassist Charlie Colin dead at 58

Charlie Colin, bassist and founding member of the American pop-rock band Educate, greatest known for their early-aughts hits like “Drops of Jupiter” and “Meet up with Virginia,” has died. He was 58.

Colin’s sister Carolyn Stephens confirmed her brother’s demise to The Related Push Wednesday. He died after slipping and falling in the shower even though property-sitting down for a friend in Brussels, Belgium, superstar web page TMZ.com claimed.

Colin grew up in California and Virginia and attended Berklee Faculty of New music in Boston.

He played in a group known as Apostles immediately after faculty with guitarist Jimmy Stafford and singer Rob Hotchkiss. The band ultimately dissolved, and Colin moved to Singapore for a year to produce jingles.
